Slide Coffee Roasters - Coolum Beach QLD
Founded in 2017 by Aaron and Rahel Bradley, Slide Coffee Roasters grew from a shared curiosity about coffee’s origins — and a belief in its power to bring people together.
We had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Aaron at their roastery in sunny Coolum Beach, read the full story below:
What's the story behind Slide Coffee Roasters? Take us to the beginning.
It all started when I was roasting for another business and realised I had a huge passion for understanding how coffee is purchased. Knowing there were flaws in the supply chain, I was eager to dig deeper. Rahel and I dreamed of one day having a roastery of our own, though at the time it felt impossible.
Eventually, we took the leap — left the roasting job, borrowed a friend’s roasting space, scraped together enough to buy our first half-pallet of green coffee, and even took out a car loan for a van. We roasted, delivered, and served coffee at markets and started to build a community of wholesale customers that believed in what we were doing. That was the very beginning of Slide Coffee Roasters.

The Slide Coffee House & Tasting Room have become local attractions for coffee lovers. What makes your venues different from other cafés on the Sunshine Coast?
I think having the focus be purely on the coffee itself. We don’t offer any food menu or anything else, so we are able to attract high quality team members that want to focus purely on the coffee industry and grow their knowledge. Being a part of the roastery business we are constantly dialing in new single origins, so our team know a lot when it comes to getting the most out of each unique coffee.
We also have a big focus on customer experience, we’re always aiming to improve on this, and give customers an experience that they remember.
Slide has been partnering with Loveramics since 2020, using our signature range of Egg Cups, Twisted Glasses, Brewing Equipment and Pro Tea gear — how do these tools fit into the café experience you aim to offer?
We get a lot of compliments on our cups, particularly the twisted glass for our piccolos, I think the presentation makes a huge first impression, and the solid feel and quality of the Loveramics cups make that impression solid.
Beyond brewing great coffee, what's most meaningful to you in your day to day?
I am really loving widening people's eyes when it comes to what goes on to get that final cup of coffee in their hands.
I think for the most part the coffee industry, particularly the supply chain, is very mysterious, and people are curious and ask questions. I love it when we have the time and space to really show customers the roasting process or explain to them the process of what goes on at the origin. So consumer education I guess! When people get a glimpse of that, they seem to appreciate coffee more, and value it. I believe this is the key to having more people become conscious of what they are consuming, which could lead to a better supply chain where the producers are valued more highly.
